Exciter coils create the auxillary power for the SA200. When they fail
your machine will lose auxillary power and weld.
On machine prior to 1972 the OHMS across the stranded windings
should read 167ohms.
On machine after 1972 you will read 130ohms.
The solid windings in the exciter coils will read less than an ohm.
These coils are located inside the generator housing at 2 and 7
o'clock.
When failure happens you will lose weld output but auxillary
power remains.
By isolating the blue and brown wires from these coils inside
your machines circuit and reading across them you should
read 41 ohms (plus or minus 10%)
